We are a group of South Florida technologists and technology enthusiasts. Our members range as diverse as desktop developers, hobbyists, web designers, and just the casually interested. We meet once a month. Hope to see you there, and welcome to the conversation!

The Scoop

Windows 7 Ultimate Winners

Three copies of Windows 7 Ultimate were raffled off at the Nov/Dec 2009 meeting.

Distributed Multiplayer Games

Jason walked through how to build distributed multiplayer games at the Nov/Dec 2009 meeting. He used the open source solution Boat Battle (http://boatbattle.com) written in WPF and C# as the example. He discussed how this turned-based casual game works, and how the code can be modified to create many different kinds of games.

Open Source Projects discussed

The South Florida Tech Talk group reviewed the CodePlex (http://codeplex.com) website and some of the open source projects available at the Nov/Dec 2009 meeting. One of the projects discussed was the SQL Azure Migration Wizard (http://sqlazuremw.codeplex.com) which helps you migrate your local SQL Server 2005 / 2008 databases into SQL Azure.
